Kurdish film-maker Arash Kamali Sarvestani has made two movies about life behind Australian detention centre fences on Manus Island … and now you can watch both while supporting RAC.
“Chauka, please tell us the time” was filmed while in detention by fellow Kurdish refugee Behrouz Boochani and directed by Sarvestani.
“Tall fences, taller trees” follows the process of collaboration between the two men, with Sarvestani juggling family life in Holland while Boochani learned the art of film-making on Manus.
Stream the movies any time up to Christmas Eve. One movie costs $15 or buy both for $25.
Proceeds will be split between RAC and Sarvestani.
If you buy a movie, make a donation to RAC or buy from the RAC shop before the end of December, you’ll go into the draw for great prizes.
