New Petition – Airlines: Don’t Deport To Danger!

Our new petition calling on airlines not to deport asylum seekers is up on!

RAC has written a Code of Conduct to be presented to domestic and international airlines. We need as many signatures as possible to send a clear statement that deporting innocent people is illegal under international law and will not be stood for.

The link to the petition is here

Once you have signed the petition, share it via social media, email or word of mouth – we need thousands of signatures to make a real impact!

Priya, Nades and their children Kopica and Tharunicaa have received a removal notice that could see them deported to danger in Sri Lanka.

RAC, Home to Bilo and the Tamil Refugee Council are holding a joint protest calling on the Turnbull government not to deport the family.

As the Home to Bilo campaign says
“We have lawyers desperately working on legal avenues but we need you to help us be as loud as we can.”

If we need to go out to MITA where they are being held we will, and announce it via RAC, Home to Bilo and TRC. What we need now is the biggest possible attendance at the rally on Sunday.

Below is a post put out by the Home to Bilo campaign this morning

They came at dawn – now they come at night.

Last night at dusk, Priya and Nades were served with deportation papers. They are set to be forced from our country by next Tuesday 26th June and the Border Force vans could come at any time.

Border Force thinks that doing this on a Friday night will stop us taking a stand for Priya, Nades and their Australian-born girls. But it won’t.

Country people know how to work on the weekend and we need your help.

We have lawyers desperately working on legal avenues but we need you to help us be as loud as we can.
