When: 4:30-6pm Thursday 9 February
Where: Department of Immigration, 2 Lonsdale St Casselden Pl, Melbourne
Join the Refugee Action Collective to oppose the government and department of immigration cruel and punitive attempts to silence refugees, by banning mobile phones from detention centres, cutting off refugees from the outside world and silencing the horrors inside detention, as part of a general criminalisation of asylum seekers.
We’re also speaking out against the proposed prison-like changes to MITA (Melbourne Immigration Transit Accommodation), further removing the rights of asylum seekers and making their lives worse.
Speakers include Pamela Curr.
