RAC meeting with guest Cambodian Trade Unionist Speakers

Where: ANMF House 540 Elizabeth St Melbourne, just North of Vic Markets
The Refugee Action Collective meeting this Monday will have two Cambodian trade union leaders as guest speakers. They will give an introduction to the RAC meeting about the political/social situation in Cambodia, what’s wrong with Australia’s refugee deal with Cambodia, and their own struggles.
Speakers: Sar Mora & Yon Sineat
1) Mr. Sar Mora, currently the president of the Cambodian Food and Service Workers’ Federation (CFSWF). Started work life as a construction worker and then moved into the garment sector. He was involved for many years with the Coalition of Cambodian Apparel Workers Democratic Union (C.CAWDU). Mora is also a representative of Solidarity House in Cambodia.
2) Ms. Yon Sineat, currently employed as a Project Officer with CFSWF. She started work life in the footwear industry before moving into the hospitality industry as a hotel worker. She became active in the Cambodian Tourism and Service Workers Federation (CTSWF) and became the local president of the women committee. Sineat then became a program officer with ACILS Cambodia and then a project co-ordinator with LO/FTF.
