Snap action: Stop the forced transfer of mum and daughter to Darwin

When: 6am 16 June (tomorrow)

Where: Broadmeadows Detention Centre

MITA map

Last week, we received word that 23 people were possibly going to be forcibly sent to Nauru. Today, we have found out that a mother and her daughter from the same group are to be sent from MITA, Broadmeadows, to Darwin. The mother self-harmed last week as she was so terrified at the thought of being returned to Nauru, and her teenage daughter has survived an horrific alleged rape attempt on Nauru. There are only very spurious reasons for them to be sent to Darwin, and there is every chance this is happening because it will be easier to then move them to Nauru from Darwin.

We have received word that they will be moved in the morning to be put on a flight to Darwin. Please join us to help stop this forced transfer. All supporters of refugee rights are welcome.
